New Student Danny

Last night was New Student Welcome Night at Marist. I couldn’t help but think back to the same occasion four years ago, when it was Clare’s turn. (And I thought for certain I had blogged about it, but evidently I did not.) I well remember taking a picture of Clare, Abby and other CKS friends, and I anticipated doing the same with Danny. It turns out that when you have a sister in 10th grade, whose friends know and love you well, you are sort of the mayor of the occasion - so your photo apps look a little bit different!

I think he’s going to do well here.

Clare’s Confirmation

The milestones seem to be coming fast and furiously these days! We were so blessed to celebrate Clare’s Confirmation with dear friends - friends who together made their First Communions just eight short years ago!

Clare asked Abby’s mom, Chris, to be her sponsor, and I truly cannot think of someone more fitting. She is a wonderful source of guidance in my own faith, and she loves Clare like her own.

The Testanis hosted a beautiful brunch after the occasion, which was longer than Laura would have preferred, but special nevertheless. Laura’s big day is up next!

Easter 2019

This was our third year of celebrating Easter with Tim singing in the Cathedral Ensemble, which meant evening mass and a relaxed, leisurely morning. We all slept to our heart’s content, which was later for some than others, and enjoyed Tim’s waffles and bacon.

Laura was thrilled that the Easter Bunny left a fun game for her to seek her basket!

It was a beautiful day, so Clare and I enjoyed a walk and some practice parking the car before church. Danny altar served, so I didn’t get him in the ore-mass photo, but the girls happily obliged.

On Good Friday, Stephanie kindly had Laura over to dye eggs with Meghan, which was a big hit.

On Easter Monday, we grabbed SJ and headed to lunch at The Varsity - a local institution that we somehow had never tried. (It was fine...no need to rush back.)

With our weeks often spent at a breakneck pace, we were grateful for a long weekend to unwind and think about our many blessings!

Spring Break for Three of Us

Once again, we navigated two different spring breaks by dividing and conquering. Leaving on a Sunday (can’t miss Soccer Saturday!), Danny, Laura and I hit the road and made record time to Sarasota, where we received the usual fabulous hospitality from Donna and Larry!

We hit the beach, pool, and Universal’s Harry Potter worlds - had to make up for the aborted trip over Thanksgiving. We also ate, drank and relaxed!

We are so fortunate to have such a terrific location at our disposal for a lovely, stress-free break. Thank you once again, Grandma and Grandpa!
